Researchers Claudio Catone and Eugenio Geremia both received scholarships from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Parthenope to work alongside aquaculture scientist Dr. Steven Prescott and they have now arrived in Malta to begin their secondments at AquaBioTech Group.

They are using Life Cycle Assessment to investigate how the environmental impacts of aquaculture value-chains may be influenced through the adoption of circular economy principles.

In particular, they are focusing on aquafeeds and the use us novel feed ingredients produced using aquaculture co-products, such as nutrient containing sludge.
